Justifing the Header

I am using Adobe Acrobat 9, and I'm trying to insert a header into a PDF file that is already made. There are three boxes that correspond to left, center, and right justified headers. I would like a right justified header, so I enter it into the right box, however, it comes out as left justified when I accept it. In fact all positions of both the header and footer come out as left justified. Any ideas?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 9.0, Windows

In the Preview window of the Add Header and Footer, you should see a cross-hatch with your text right justified against the left side cross-hatch. Does this show properly? If you need to change the location where the text is entered you can use the Right Margin adjustment in the top right of the Add Header and Footer window.

The preview window displays properly, as in the text is right justified against the left side cross-hatch, however when I click ok it comes out as left justified on the PDF. The text itself appears in the correct location on the page (in the upper right corner) its just left justified to a "margin" that runs down the page about 2 inches in. The text appears as if its been left justified to the right cross-hatch.

Can you post an example? You can post files for free on Acrobat.com.

And here is what shows up when I click ok:

Hi,
Try using a soft return (Ctrl+Enter in Windows) to get to the second line.
Using a hard return appears to put the default right justify into left justify.
A soft return does not.

I tried the soft return (ctrl + enter) and unfortunately it does not work, I still get the left justification. Thanks though!

inklohea,
Thank you for your follow up post.
It got me looking closer. My apology, my previous post was in error.
I had used the same length text string for the line one and line two entries.
In both Acrobat 8 and Acrobat 9 the right justify "appearance" in the preview does not reflect what gets placed on the PDF page if there is more than one line.
A soft return (word wrap) does not occur within the text input field.
A return, forced return (Shift+Enter), or page break (Ctrl+Enter) (which I'd mis-named before) has no effect (other than starting a new line in the text input field).
Playing with the different combinations still had the same outcome - the text input, once on the PDF page, is left justified.

As long as the text does not leave the first "line" in the text input field the text will have the appearance of being right justified, when on the PDF page.

A work around can be used. Place "First line"; then use "Add > Add New" to place "Second line" which will have margin spacing from the top the is appropriately larger. This puts "Second line" below "First line". Each entry, on the PDF page will appear right justified.
To propogate across multiple pages, do "First line" then do "Second line".
A bit awkward but functional.

daka630: Thanks for the workaround. I have been trying to find a solution to this problem since 8.0 was released. I'm embarrassed that, as a "pro user", I never thought about just placing two footers.

To others who may try this method, be aware that attempting to edit these "two-layer footers" does not work well (at least not in v8.x), as they tend to replace each other instead of just updating.
