I like to create a map that has locations where when i click on each location it displays info box from the attached database which can be either text file, excel file or access database file. Is this possible with Acrobat pdf files?

thanks.

You can add form fields with actions to go to a view or open a file and other actions, but the fields shapes are rather limited.

Adobe has disabled the ADBC in version 7 on, although you should be able to renable it.

Also users with Reader will not be able to use the data connection. The work around is to sumbit data to a web script page and have the web script perform the database lookup and format the response that is passed back to the user.

gkaiseril thanks for your answer.

But problem is i want this to be an offline project 'cos there are times that I have to use this without any internet connections. I am currently using arcMap. but I like to distribute this map to any end user who may not have arcMap. since acrobat has linking ability and JavaScript option, I thought this would be a feasible solution.

I will look in to ADBC. Thank you again for your help.
