Several months ago, I created an HTML webpage containing hyperlinks to specific pages in a PDF. At the time, I was using IE 7 and Acrobat 8 Standard. I used the following format in my hyperlinks to page references in the PDF:
Everything worked great for months. Then, my company upgraded our licensing to Acrobat 9 with updates to 9.1.3. (We're still on IE 7.) Now, all the links open the PDF to the first page as opposed to the specific page referenced in the hyperlink.
There are a number of posts on this very same topic discussing earlier versions of Acrobat. There are also articles on this topic on the Acrobat Knowledgebase, such as #317300.
Note that I also tried several different syntax tweaks and link methods, but no success. For example, I tried using named destinations instead of page references, and I tried including the absolute path of the PDF file (http://www.example.com/myfile.pdf#page=4). However, the PDF still opens to the first page instead of the specified location in the file.
From the various posts and articles, there was apparently a bug in Acrobat version 7 that prevented the linking function from working properly: PDFs would only open to the first page.
Then, the bug was fixed in version 8: PDFs would open to the page specified in the link.
However, the bug appears to be back in version 9: PDFs again now only open to the first page.
Does anyone know of a fix to this.
