Linking to a PDF from and email

I am creating a announcement email that contains teaser articles in the email with a "Read More" link. I want the link to go to a destination in the actual PDF file. I can get it to open the PDF but it won't open to the destination. I use a hyperlink in Outlook like: \\servername\location\filename.pdf#Destination. When I send out the email, it converts the hyperlink to file:///\\servername\location\filename.pdf#Destination. If I copy the hyperlink from the email and paste it into either IE or Firefox, it works fine and goes to the destination. But the major problem is that all of the end users have acrobat reader on the system and it seems like Outlook wants to open the link in reader, not IE or Firefox.

So with all that, my question is, how do I get the links in the email to open properly in Reader?

Thanks for the help,

Andy

PDF's open parameters work in a URI. You're using UNC. Not the same.

Parameters for Opening PDF Files is the reference document. No significant changes in the content since back around PDF version 1.4.
.

I thought I read in another document that you could do UNC, but not named location (i.e. c:\).
