links in inserted pages don't work

I made a document in MS Word that has links to many other pdfs. They work in Word and they work when I turn the original word document into a pdf but when I insert those linked pdfs as pages in the main document the links no longer work- Is there a way to do this? I would like to avoid rebuilding the links when I convert from word and can not have it as one huge word doc before the conversion because the file size would be unmnageable. I hoped that the new package feature in 8.0 would do this so I downloaded the trial (supposedly fully funtioning) and it did not work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated even if it involves 3rd party plugins- I have spent ALOT of time rebuilding links because I make substantial edits to the word document. THanks

Your links are, I take it, originally hyperlinks to external files. When you insert the pages, the link attributes remain assigned to a file outside the open PDF document. There's no way to convert the links from external files to pages within a document.

A PDF Package won't solve your problem. Again, your original links are to external files. There's no way to convert the links to the PDF Package contents either.

You might browse the online resellers to see if a 3rd party plug-in exists that might help ou. As for Acrobat, it won't be able to do the job.
