making the mouse roll-over more obvious

I have a large collection of PDF documents that cross reference each other as part of our Quality System. To make the documents easier to use I am adding links which so far are working well. The problem is with the roll-over icon. The default hand tool switches to a hand with one finger pointing up. For the visually challenged, this is a far too subtle switch. Is there a way to change the pointer at roll-over to something more obvious (or cause some other visually obvious reaction at roll-over).

Thanks

You can create a custom icon for use with different button states.

First create an icon (or icons) for the Up, Rollover and Down (if required) button states, probably something high contrast in your case. Keep in mind the dimensions of the button you will or have created in Acrobat and design accordingly (when required.) You can design and create these icons in any application, they must however be saved/exported as PDF's prior to use in Acrobat.

After you have created your button(s) open the "Button Property" panel (with the "Select Object Tool" double click any pre-exisitng button to open this dialog box)

Under "Options" > "Layout" select "Icon only" (or a combination of icon and text) and from "Behaviors" select "Push" (the only option that gives you access to all three, Up, Down and Rollover, states). You can now select a state and browse to your pre-designed icon(s) for each state.
