Hi,

My example: A document with separate chapters on different topics say: Fishing for Trout, Driving a Jeep etc.

I want to be able to 'merge' a Word document of say chapter titles and their relative URL, with an existing PDF document so that it (in a batch) will locate those key words or phrases and give them a URL link when they're clicked upon.

My Word document would read like:

Fishing for Trout www.troutfishing.com
Driving a Jeep www.jeepdriving.com

Is anything remotely like this possible?

MAny thanks for any guidance.

Bied :)

Hi,

You can't in Acrobat but we have a solution for doing this and for Mac called PDF Link.

see: http://www.traction-software.co.uk/servertools/pdflink

to use e.g.

create a simple list of text and links e.g. linklist.txt pipe separated.
Fishing for Trout|www.troutfishing.com
Driving a Jeep|www.jeepdriving.com

then run command:-
pdflink test.pdf out-test.pdf -linkfile "linklist.txt" -create -link " "

free trial available on the website, see examples folder for examples.
