Move or edit an object

I'm going through the Help in Acrobat 8 Standard, and have come to the "Move or edit an object" subject. It states that "a selected object usually shows a bounding box.". Ok. Then it states, to move an object, "click the object with the Select Object tool or the tool used to create it. Drag the object to the desired location." I think that I do not have the correct definition of what Adobe considers an "object". When I create a PDF with text and pictures, the pictures do not show a bounding box when clicked upon (they show nothing), and the bounding box around the text does not move when dragged. Can someone explain to me what part of this I am missing? Thank you.

Maybe there's a typo in the Standard Help document. It should read TouchUp Object tool not Select Object tool (which isn't a tool in Acrobat in version 8). The TouchUp Object tool appears adjacent to the TouchUp Text tool.

When you click a text block or graphic with the TouchUp Object tool you should see a bounding box and you should be able to click drag to another location.
