MS Word 2003 Table Lines/Borders Drop Out in PDF

I am using MS Word templates that have 1/2 pt borders around the table cells. When converted into a PDF, the vertical lines are missing or different thicknesses. In general, the lines are inconsistent. Is there any setting I should adjust when I am creating a PDF from Acrobat 9? What is causing this?

Hi,
Just curious; but, what happens at 100% magnification of the PDF?

Is bad at 100%...the lines start to show around 150% but very thin...ugh.

This solution comes from another related post:
"This problem only occurs when the cells have internal top/bottom margins. If you want to keep the margins, you can edit the PDF with the "edit object" tool in Acrobat Pro. When you zoom in on the cells, there will be a short, wide rectangle near the top of each colored cell partly obscuring the line. Delete them, and it should look good at any magnification."
