Need to produce a PDF from a *very* large XLSX document

I am trying to create a high-quality image file and PDF from a rather large time-line I have created in MS Excel 2007. However, when I attempt to print (to PDF) I get an out of memory error - which is very understandable given that the spreadsheet contains data spread out over thousands of cells wide (versus over a hundred cells high).

Is there any way (or tool) that I can use to ultimately produce this PDF or image? I have tried a number of online document converters with no positive effect. I have also attempted to save as another file format, with no effect either.

Possibly saving the Excel file in landscape sections, convert to pdf and then combine the pdf files?

Sadly, I have tried this. But the problem I'm finding is that each section ends up scaling differently, making the "parts" more like a poorly-made jigsaw - coming together but not quite right. It ends up wrecking the "flow" of the timeline.

Also, with elements on the timeline pouring over the break, they don't come together all that well. If it comes down to it, I'll re-create the thing natively in an image editor that can handle it, but I was hoping to be able to use all the hard work I've already done in Excel 2007.

Thanks for the thought. :) I'm hoping to find another way, though.
