Numbering and printing indiviudal sections

I’m a new user working with Acrobat 7 and I could use some help. I need to be able to number a collection of merged documents from 1 to “X” for each series, so each section starts at page #1. In addition, I have to be able to print only the section selected by clicking on a bookmark. The end result would allow a user to hypothetically click on the 5th bookmark and print pages 1 to 57 in a document with several hundred pages. What tools would be needed? Does this require scripting? Any good reference books? Thanks
