RE: ocring

I recently purchased Acrobat 8 Standard for my computer. A colleague is trialing 8 Professional. We both OCR'd the same document and I had 1 OCR error on the first page to her 7 errors. On the second page, I had 2 and she had 3. Can you give me any idea why this is happening??

Thank you!

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 8, Windows

You might have different settings in the Recognize Text - Settings dialog box. Open the Recognize Text dialog and click the Edit button. Verify that you're using the same settings for PDF Output Style (i.e. Searchable Image).

I'm assuming you're using the exact same document scanned on the exact same scanner with the exact same settings used for the scan.

Thank you Ted! We are using the exact same scanned image electronic file. On computer with Adobe 8 Standard, I had 1 error and my colleague has 7 errors with the trial version of Adobe 8 Professional. All other settings are the same - 600 dpi, OCR output style - Image Searchable.

There must be some other setting, but I don't know where - or else the Professional (or trial version of Professional) version doesn't OCR as well as Standard and that just doesnt' make sense to me??? I have to be missing something.

Any light you can shed on this will be greatly appreciated!
