Open .tif files with Adobe Reader 7.0

Hi All,

I have a user who has recently moved from a Windows 2000 machine with Adobe 6.0 Pro to a Windows XP machine with Adobe Reader 7.0.

Previously Windows was configured to open .tif files with Adobe Pro. But doing so on the new machine results in the following error message:

"Unsupported or damaged file"

Is it necessary to install the full version for this function to work. The user needs to be able to save them as .pdf files with minimal effort.

Many thanks...

Reader says it all, it is reader of Acrobat PDF files only. You will require either a full version of Acrobat or one of the many 3rd party converters.

Thanks gkaiseril, I feared as much.

Will need to get old of some free utility to do this then, as they don't actually want to be able to edit the file, just open it into Adobe.

Thanks again.
