Opening a new web page from a hotlink

I've managed to insert some hotlinks in a document. This document is published on our website. Can I force Adobe to open a new internet explorer window, rather than just going to that site? I'd rather have it open a new window, rather than force the user to hit the "Back" button to get back to the original document.

Basically, no... Your PDF is displayed in the browser (Reader/Acrobat default).
Your links (web links) are going to be processed by the browser such that you get the linked content in the existing browser session.

Regardless, use of the browser back feature may not be such a bad thing.

Be well...

Response to this question is not true. You can indeed open PDF documents in new Browser windows. You need to use a JavaScript such as:

(app.launchURL(”http://www.mycompany.com/pdfDocument.pdf”, true);).

Thanks Ted. Although I have zero experience working with Javascript, I'm pretty sure I can handle this. Thanks again.
