Operation failed error when reopening Email as attachment

I have five users with Acrobat 8 who are receiving an "operation failed" error in Outlook. This occurs only when they receive an Email with an email inside of it. They can open the attached email once. But if they open it a second time, they receive the operation failed error from Outlook. I believe this is caused by the PDFMaker Mail option. Uninstalling Acrobat 8 eliminates the error. Looking for a better solution. Thank you.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 8, Windows

This is a known bug.

Instead of removing the entire Acrobat program, you also just remove the Outlook PDFmaker if it's not being used.

You can do this by going add/remove programs and select Acrobat and choose to Modify the installation. In the wizard select to remove Outlook PDFMaker.

Or when re-installing Acrobat, choose to do a custom install and do not install the Outlook PDFMaker.

Is Adobe working on a fix or do we just remove this part of the software?

I'm unable to comment whether or not a fix will be released for this issue. The most likely scenario is that it will be addressed in the next version of Acrobat.

Some workarounds do exist. It seems that this problem only happens to e-mails stored on an (Exchange)-server.
So you could either turn on 'cache-exchange mode', or move the e-mails with the msg attachments to a local folder (pst)first.

The other alternative as mentioned, is to disable the Outlook PDFMaker. besides the methods mentioned above, you can do this by unregistering pdfmoutlook.dll.

so basically your saying that to fix this error, our company has to purchase a new version of Acrobat?

to me that sure isn't much of a fix; is there any other workarounds that do not involve turning on cached mode or moving to a pst or disabling the add-in?

I use Thunderbird as my email client, although Outlook is installed as well. I don't use Outlook to send or receive emails and have disabled it by adding an "x" to the server description in Outlook Account SetUp. Notwithstanding, if I receive an email with a .pdf attachment, (in Thunderbird) and wish to open it and send it by email to some outside correspondent, by accessing "File" "Attach to email" the Outlook Write EmailScreen appears and, since Outlook's disabled, the email never gets sent. Is there any setting to change so that Adobe Acrobat Standard V. 9, will open Thunderbird when I invoke "File" "Attach to email" instead of Outlook?
