Packaging multiple files & printing as separate documents

We have individual files that we need to publish as one pdf document so that a user can easily search all of the files to find what they need. The published pdf needs to have each document appear as a chapter or section that the user can jump to using bookmarks. BUT, our users also need to be able to print each file separately (and copy each separately so that they can email them to others). Can Acrobat 8 do this within the functionality of the "packet"? Is there any way to do this in version 7? Thanks.

Hi --
Here are a couple of ways in which you could handle the situation from Acrobat 7:

- Combine all the files into a single pdf and attach print buttons scripted to print just the pages for each file.

- Include a "master" page that links to each subdocument, and include buttons/links to print and email each.

- Add bookmarks for the documents, and insert nested bookmarks that link to email and print actions.

- Within the new PDF package feature in Acrobat 8, you could use any of these options. You might want to use the cover sheet as a "master" page to house your email and print links.

Thank you for your post, Donna. Do you have any tips for printing multiple 'packets'? We have had success in making the packets in Adobe Professional 8 and can print one packet successfully, but when we print multiple packets the documents collate and don't print as separate packets. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
