Pdf conversion to text

Pdf file has 3 columns

Item Bid Sold

itema $5
itemb $12

Only one column - either Bid or Sold -- has information. When bid is shown, sold is empty; when sold is shown bid is empty. In PDF it is easy to distinguish between the two columns.

However, when I convert the pdf file to text, the spaces between item name and the price (whether it is a bid or sold) get converted to single space (or single tab). As a result in the text file, it is impossible to distinguish between the lines with bid and lines with sold.

Perhaps, when converting to text it is possible to insert two tabs when the bid column is empty.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Alex

Hi, sounds that you want to convert PDF to text with the layouts preserved? Maybe it is impossible because text will not preserve any formats of PDF.However, you can use PDF to Word Converter to change PDF to Word, with the original text, layouts, hyperlinks and images preserved. The appliaction I suggest is free. You may try it.

All the best.

I will try my best to help you in PDF converison fields, objectively and Neutral.
