I want to add a ’BACK TO PREVIOUS PAGE’ action to PDF (Acrobat 6).
Since it is not available as a standard pallette selection, I tried a couple Javascripts from the web(neither worked:

Another snippet: Back

Do these need to be modified for the PDF?
Is there another way?

Could use any help!

This might be a viable alternative for you.
A PDF with two buttons. Each with a different icon but both return one to the previous page.
Open the Forms palette and select the button tool. Then select either button and view the properties.
I've used these for Acrobat 5, 6, 7, & 8.the link

Sure. With the PDF containing the buttons open, right click on the tool bar.
Select the Form tool then select the button tool.
Using the button tool, select a button. Right click to open the context menu and select Properties.
Select the Actions tab. In the Actions pane select the "Execute a menu item" then click on the "Edit" button.
The Menu Item dialog box presents itself. Select, from the menu, "View>Go To> Previous View".
Click "OK", "Close", and save the PDF.

The button, when used, will provide the "previous view".
