Does anyone else think adobe new digital magazine format .issue could potentially replace interactive pdf content. I am not sure why Adobe is going to put out a new reader on all devices including PC's for a new digital format. Didnt it take years and years for adobe reader to get where it is today!

Anyone thoughts?

Adobe DMS fills the gap resulting from the restrictions imposed by Apple, and is not a replacement for any existing technologies on mainstream platforms. There are many things we can do in PDF and Flash that are not possible in .issue documents (not only in terms of content, but in the entire Web delivery, accessibility and indexing processes), however until Flash and JavaScript are permitted to run on iDevices the argument is going nowhere.
