pdfmaker vs. print to pdf

I have to create an internal user manual for acrobat. Why would one choose pdfmaker over the print to pdf option? It seems both use the same distiller settings, so I need to outline which to use when. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The PDFMaker has several macros that make a better PDF. The PDFMaker will automatically bookmark the file if the user used headings. It automatically makes the file accessible.
I am telling all my students to use the PDFMaker first.
