just install 8.0 from 6.0. When trying to access the ability to just OPEN a PDF off the web, it acts like it is downloading, but gives error "file cannot be found". Didn't have problem with 6.0

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8, Windows

You might try using Adobe Reader to be certain the link is properly identified and the Web hosted PDF is not corrupt. If you see different behavior between Acrobat and Reader, you might want to repair the Acrobat installation (Help > Repair Acrobat Installation). If that doesn't work you may need to deinstall/reinstall the application.Note that Acrobat provides you an option to view PDFs as inline views in a Web browser or separatley viewed in an Acrobat viewer. Check the Internet Preferences and switch back and forth before attempting a reinstall.

You can try download the document first, then if the file still cannot be opened, the file may be corrupt and you may try Advanced PDF Repair at http://www.datanumen.com/apdfr/

Hope this helps.
