Problem opening PDF file in Chinese file name?

I am running Acrobat Professional 7.0.9 on Win XP Pro. Having trouble opening PDF file that is named in Chinese.PDF However, if renaming the file name to test.pdf then was able to open the file without any problems.

Have searched Adobe Support Forum, all pointing to upgrade to 7.0.8 version. And I have just upgraded from 7.0.5 to 7.0.8 and then 7.0.9 No success.

Can anyone point me to a right direction? Thanks

Error I am getting is : There was an error opening this document. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."

Acrobat Pro 7.0.9, Windows

Try adding Chinese fonts to your Windows font directory.

In Windows, you must install the Asian language support files by using the custom installation and selecting the Asian Language Support options under Create Adobe PDF and View Adobe PDF.

PDFMaker and the Adobe PDF printer automatically embed most Asian fonts in your file when creating PDF files. You can control whether Asian fonts are embedded.

In Windows, you may be able to view and print files that contain Asian languages without having the necessary Asian language support installed on your system. If you try to open a PDF file for which language support is required, you are automatically prompted to install the required fonts.

My favorite quote - "Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

ppdesigner, this solution works for all programs other than Adobe programs. In Acrobat I can open a PDF file that contains Unicode characters and I will get the font prompt (if I hadn't already installed the Asian fonts). However if the file name, network or file path contains Unicode characters Acrobat cannot open the file. I just get the message "Adobe PDF File Format is having difficulties" from Illustrator, or "There was an error opening this document. The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."

Temporarily copying the file to a different location and/or renaming the file isn't a big problem unless there are links to the files or it has to be done many many times.

The only solution I have found to this is using a computer who's OS is the same language as the files names, however I think it is more appropriate for Adobe to offer a fix to this program since it is unique to Adobe.
