problems with Help

I have Acrobat X Pro and uninstalled Acrobat 8 Pro along with some help files in /Library that appear to have affected Help in Acrobat X: now when I invoke Help, help pages load only in Safari, instead of the built-in Help app.

Is that to be expected? I've tried uninstalling Acrobat X Pro via the uninstall app and reinstalling, to no avail. Please advise.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 10.0, Macintosh

Adobe has put most of their Help files in their LiveDocs on the web.

But why did a Help app launch earlier? Are you saying that it is to be expected that invoking "Help..." in Acrobat X Pro should switch me immediately to my web browser? That is the default behavior?

What if I'm not connected to the internet? How do I consult help then?

You can not unless you download the PDF copy form Acarobat X Professional Help. Also if your Internet connectoin uses a proxy you can not access the Internet help. Help (F1) function not working.Try beta testing when there is no help available at all.
