Hello,

I purchased acrobat 9 pro on sale and after I got home I discovered it was for mac. I don't own a mac but only a pc. What options do I have. I was wondering if I installed a trial version of acrobat and then gave them whatever numbers I was given for the mac would that work?

Call the Adobe support, they often manage this kind of issue.

Mac and Win serial numbers are not interchangeable.

Hello,

Thanks everyone for your responses. I contacted support and they had me open the box to give them the serial number. Then they told me I'd have to buy the upgrade. Why they needed my serial to tell me that I don't know. I think opening the box ruined my opportunity to sell it on ebay. I'll probably just give it away to some charity that uses mac.

That was indeed bad advice on Adobe Support's part (it's a part of their process to verify that the people calling are actually customers, and to do that they usually need your S/N.) You should have just returned it on the spot and asked for a refund.
However, it might not be too late. If you bought it from a certified vendor you might still be able to return it. Might be worth a try.

Although AUC doesn't deal with returns, it's helpful if people are asking questions like this if we know what country you're from, and if you purchased the software from Adobe or a reseller. The laws on returning unopened copies of software vary depending on both these factors.

Hello

I'll remember that next time. I'm from the US and it was purchased from an adobe reseller. The software is no longer unopened. I doubt that I would return it anyway. I'll just look for a good home for it either some non profit, a gift to a friend or on ebay. Thank you for all of your responses.
