Reader X Hangs

When using Adobe Reader X on a 64-bit Windows 7 platform, the reader will hang often (usually when searching for a string). To recover, you need to terminate the process and reopen the file. Anybody else have this symptom?

Reader, Windows

Are you searching for a string within the standalone Reader or within the browser?

I am using Adobe Reader X, version 10.0.0. Occasionally I will see what appears to be a dialog box flash at the center of the Adobe Reader program window (it appears and immediately fades away) after which, the program is hung and I have to use Task Manager to terminate the process.

Are you searching within a PDF or across multiple PDFs on a network or drive?

I do have the similar problem. This problem has been seen by me in the following scenario:

1, when the pdf is opened in the IE page.
2, when I try to search in the pdf document with ctl+F key.
3. when try to type a password.

to recover from the situtaion I have to terminate the programme in the task manager.
My system configuration:
windows 7x64 enterprise
RAM 2 GB
adobe reader x (10.0.0)

Same issue.

Acrobat Reader X (10.0.0)
Windows 7 Pro (64 bit), 4GB ram

Opening locally stored PDF and use Ctrl+F to enter a search dialog. After a string is entered into search and have moved forward or backwards through the document based on string matches, acrobat will become unusable. Moving mouse across the acrobat window will remove icons (File|Edit|View bar, printer icon, save icon, etc.) The only workaround I have found is to open taskmanager and terminate the acrord32.exe process. I cannot recreate this in Acrobat 9 Standard (not reader).

I also have seen a "ghost" dialog box popup only to immediately disappear with no way of accessing it.

I do not know if the new update is comming to fix this problme. The workaround I used is to uninstall the adobe reader x and the previous version is working fine.
I am fed up killing the program every now and then.

I think I have found the solution by applying the setting mentioned in the below link and now when I press the ctrl key the Adobe X doesnot hang.
"http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/329/329137.html#main_Vista and Win 7"

Since past 3 days the Adobe is working without any problem in my system I use any combinationation of the Ctrl+.

Two months later, I do have the same problem exactly with the new version just downloaded. When going to the settings mentioned in the link above attached, it does not concern at all this problem.
Is there a new solution to the problem ?

Same problem here.
Reader version 10.0.1 under Windows 7 Professional.
Looking at sanjeev.saha's "solution", it doesn't appear to be related and I don't want to mess with my registry.

Windows 7 pro 64-bit
adobe reader x latest version
save pdf from IE link to desktop then open in Reader
Can not close, frozen, only way to get out is task manager.
NO FIND attempted.
(As others, I will NOT go into registry. Need permanent solution)

This up to users whether to apply the setting as mentioned in the adobe KB article, which just changes the permission and nothing else, since than I have applied the setting everything is working fine for me, and I am using ADOBE without any problem.
