Reader X, in thunderbird email client does not work

1. Reader X, downloaded to MS Windows XP Pro.
2. after installation, Reader will not work in Thunderbird email client to open a pdf file from inside Thunderbird.
3. After installation Reader X will open pdf file from a folder.
4. Inability to use to check pdfs uploaded to emailclient before sending makes this update a failure.

5. Any solutions?

MAPI. Your email client needs to comply with Windows MAPI, Mail Application Program Interface, standard.
