Removing hyperlinks completely

Hi I have a pdf file with hyperlinks in it. The links are highlighted and underlined in blue. If I try to remove the link the text is gone but the blue underline remains. Can anyone please point me in the right direction. I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.

Link annotations are on a different layer than the text. You could try the "Text Touchup" tool or the "Object Select" tool to edit out the under line. But touching up a PDF is not always easy. One could even cover the line with a form field or highlighter.
