I have several thousand .pdf files, but I need to rename them. I would like to run a batch process if possible. The existing file names are too long and contain some numbers that i would like to remove. i.e.... Existing file name: pm111_03929201029_0089 Name desired: pm111_089
I was wondering if there was some type of script that i could use, or if there is this capability already a function of the standard software.

I am using Acrobat 9 Professional.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Kerry

Hi Kerry,

Yes, you can do this with a Batch Sequence using a custom JavaScript. See this thread-

Hope this helps,

Dimitri,

Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction. I am going to look into the Batch Sequence using JavaScript. I've never used JavaScript, and I'm not sure of the code. Thanks again for the direction.

If anyone knows of where I can get sample script - It would be very helpful.

Thanks Again,

Kerry

You don't need Acrobat for this, a simple file renaming application will do. Check out File And MP3 Tag Renamer (http://www.123renamer.com/), for example.
