Retain split screen settings

I hope this isn't a silly question, I've ran searches on this site looking for an answer.

I'd sure like it if after I set up my split screen I could close the document and when I return the split screen is retained. Is this an option? Am I overlooking something?

Acrobat Standard 9.1.2, Windows
