A client has issues when opening a .pdf in Adobe Reader - the monitor clicks off, comes on with a lower resolution, then when they close the .pdf file the monitor returns to the normal resolution. I have updated the Display drivers, but this has not helped. Has this issue been encountered before? Thank you

My Product Information:
Reader 8, Windows

I could be wrong, but this strikes me as highly implausible. Does this happen with ANY pdf, or just ONE pdf in particular?

When in doubt, reinstall Reader, restart the computer. Please let us know if the problem persists.

"Adrian" wrote in with the (likely) answer to this puzzle. I confess, I wasn't even aware that Windows XP would allow one to force a program in 640x480, but I guess it does.

So - thanks to Adrian....

1) Locate AcroRd32.exe on your computer.
2) Right Click on the icon and select properties.
3) Click on the Compatibility Tab. Most likely you'll boxes checked in "Display settings" UNCHECK them!
4) Click "Apply". The problem should be solved.

Duff.
