Select only fields or checkboxes, not both.

I just move to Acrobat X Pro from Acrobat 8 and am learning the new interface. Almost all of the PDFs I work on have both fields and checkboxes - their properties are never the same (border, font size, options, etc.). One thing I can't seem to pick up on is how to easily select form fields by themselves - or how to select only checkboxes. In Acrobat 8, all you had to do was to select the field tool (or checkbox tool) and hit Ctrl-A. This seems to have changed. It appears that I only have the option to select both fields and checkboxes at once - no good!

Is there a way to easily select one or the other with a keyboard shortcut?

You may switch to the Form Edit mode; you may then get the functionality you are looking for.

Or… if it is not too late, take great care to your version of Acrobat 8…

Hope this can help.

When I click on the "Tools" button in the toolbar and click on the Edit button under the Forms section, the checkbox, text field, radio button, etc. tools appear in the toolbar. However if I select the either the checkbox tool or the text field tool and hit Ctrl-A, all fields are selected - not just the checkboxes or text fields. If this is the Form Edit Mode?
