Selecting Table

The main problem is the convience of the Table Select tool seems to be missing. Is there anything that forces Acrobat to select text from only a specified area? For example, in the table below, I am able to select text, but when pasted it shows up as "Data from 5 1998-2000 Data from 10 2001-2005". I used to be able to at least select it by column. Now I have to hope that Acrobat can recognize it as a column. Is there any equivalent to the user-defined Column and Table select tools? It seems silly that I have to break out the Adobe Pro 5.5.

To select table data in columns or rows, click the Select tool and press Option/Control. the cursor icon changes to display a small rectangle around the I-beam. Drag through a column or row to select the data.

When exporting data to excel, you may need to first paste the data in Word to retain certain formats.
