Snapshot tool selects whole page

The Snapshot tool will only select the entire page, rather than one part of the page. Is there a setting or something that will allow me to select only the area I want--this used to work fine with previous versions of Reader (I have 8.1)

I have Reader 8.1 installed on my XP Pro PC, and when I click once with the Snapshot too, it selects the whole page and copies it to the clipboard. If I click and drag to define the area I want to select, that rectangle is the only image that gets copied to the clipboard. That's what I expect based on experience with earlier versions.

So which of a myriad variables is different for your situation?

Thanks! I hadn't tried clicking and dragging. I use other programs where I click once at one corner of the rectangle to be selected, and then click again for the other corner, so I wasn't holding down the left button after clicking. This has solved my issue. Too bad Help doesn't explain this very well...but that's why I posted the question on the Users' Forum.
