Spaces missing when exporting PDF to MSFT Word

Hi Experts,

I have a PDF document that was created on a UNIX system using DVIPDF .
I am using Acrobat PRO 9.0 (on WIN7) and when exporting/saving the file as a MSFT word file, I get a word file in which a lot of spaces/blanks between words are missing. I can see 3 or 4 words combined together to one long meaningless word. Any idea how to solve this issue?

Thanks,

Naftaly

It may be that DVIPDF is not providing an appropriate character for spacing between words.

I don't know whether this is helpful in your particular case(considering the time passed since this thread), but I feel compelled to note that seems a lot like the Office 2007 installation is not fully updated. There is a patch that was included in Office 2007 Service Pack 2 that resolves the same symptoms when 2007 is used to read files from Office 2010, or sometimes when they are copied from or opened in 2007 from, web pages: http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_sustained_engineering/archive/2011/02/24/addressing-word-2007-docx-compatibility-and-missing-spaces.aspx
