when creating tables in word we have the border width set to 1.5pt for all cells. when i convert to pdf the lines appear smooth. when i use shading in some of the cells then convert to pdf the lines are no longer smooth for the cells that border the shaded cells.
You will find that there's often a difference in how form fields look in Word vs. Acrobat. There's no real way to predict how it will look, but when possible, simpler is better. For example, double-line borders are imported to the PDF as two sets of lines, which can often be screwy, particularly if you use something like a 3D appearance.
You said the lines aren't smooth for the cells bordering the shaded cells, what happens to them?
