Is there a way to selectively pick which web links to convert

Hello,

I live in the US. I just purchased acrobat X pro student teacher edition. Right now it's in trial mode since I won't be attending school until this summer. When I had acrobat 5 I was able to go to a webpage and select which links I wanted to download. For example if I wanted to read all the messages and responses on the first page of this board I would select all the messages but I wouldn't select the links in the red banner nor all them forum index numbers. Right now I suppose the only way to do it would be to obtain my own private web page, crop only the links I want from a webpage and upload it to my private webpage then go to my webpage and download all the webpages associated with my croped webpage. Using this forum as an example is there a simpler way to grap some of the questions without having to grab all of them or all the other weblinks?

My memories of version 5 are somewhat fuzzy but I'm not sure the Web Capture functionality has changed that much. Are you referring to capturing multiples levels of a web site? If so, you can still adjust this by clicking on the "Capture Multiple Levels" in the Create PDF from Web Page dialog.

Hello lkassuba,
Thank you for your response. In acrobat 5 I was able to capture only the links I wanted on a particular website. I don't recall the complete process but when I got to a webpage using acrobat 5 that had links I wanted I would click on something and it would show all the links on that particualr page. I would then be able to select the ones I wanted. Most webpages have a lot of stuff I don't want.

Suppose I have on my computer a file which contains all of the weblinks I want to capture. In using acrobat x openign screen on the upper left there is the create button. When you click on it you have the ability to select where you what you want to use to create your pdf file. If I select "create pdf from web page" I can indicate how many layers I want to go. If I select "create pdf from file" It loads up the above file from my computer and converts it to pdf. If this file has the web links I want to capture is there a way to have it grab all these webpages also. Right now the only work around I see is to upload this file to a website and then capture the weblinks using "create pdf from web page" where I would set capture multiple levels to two.

In order to view all of the web capture options go to the toolbar and select "Customize Quick Tools" (the icon shaped like a gear). Then expand the "Document Processing" group, select the "Web Capture (dropdown)" option, click the Add arrow and finally click the OK button.

You should now notice a new toolbar button displayed as a document with a globe in front of it. Clicking the down arrow to the right of this button will reveal the option you seek.
