Thumbnails Scroll Bar will not scroll to the bottom to show last pages

When I'm using Adobe Acrobat, and I have the thumbnails/pages panel open on the left side, the scroll bar will not scroll far enough down to show the last row of thumbnails. For example, I have a 40-page document open with the Pages Panel open showing page thumbnails in rows of 3. When the scroll bar reaches the bottom, the last row shows pages 37, 38, and 39. Where is page 40? If you look closely, you can see a sliver of the top of the thumbnail below page 37. There is no way to view the thumbnail because it is at the bottom of the list, and your scroll bar has reached its end.

This is extremely frustrating because I've missed printing some pages because they do not show up on the Panel.

Help.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.0, Windows

Has no one else noticed this problem?

Have you tried embedding the thumbnails when creating the PDF or when the PDF is open?

I tried that, and it did nothing. The only thing that "works" is to reduce the thumbnail size so small that all fit in the panel, thus eliminating the need/use of the scroll bar.

I've noticed it as well with Acrobat 9 Standard. It happens when the pages pane displays more than one column of thumbnails and the last row is not full. Then you can see just the top edge of the last row, and you can click on the icons in it, but you can't scroll all the way to the end.

I wish that someone at Adobe would take notice to this, and fix it. Create a patch or something.

You should post a bug report, here:

(And so should I...)

I just had a co-worker call me about the exact same thing (she's using Acrobat Standard Version 9). I'm using Pro Version 8 so I couldn't verify the problem w/my setup. So, I downloaded a trial version of Pro 9 and sure enough I couldn't see the last row of thumbnails - unless the last row is full. Real annoying - especially when you want to move pages around in a long document.

I submitted a bug report.

Thumbnails in Acrobat 9.1

When reinstalling Acrobat 9.1 Pro on Vista Business I cannot get the thumbnails to show the content in Explorer. When I have a lot of pdf-documents and only get the Acrobat sign, it is frustrating. Very frustrating.

In order to try to get the thumbnails back, I reinstalled Acrobat 8.1.3 Standard. No luck. No thumbnails now either.

I am using Acrobat a lot and when I needs to open a document and I have to open the actual document to see if this is the version that I am seaking, it is time consuming and frustrating.

I don't care how I solve this. Settings or separate program, I just need to solve it.

Bug! Bug! This hidden page-thumbnails-problem in Adobe Acrobat 9 is still at large. I am surprised why Adobe is not taking care of it or comes out with a solution! This problem is extremely annoying when you work with a PDF file that has many pages. In a multi-column view of the pages-pane, Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro will not show you the last few page-thumbnails of the document. Even if you scroll down completly with your scrollbar button, last few thumbnails are not visible, but it is worth noting that in a single column view all thumbnails are visible.

I am so frustrated that Adobe is not taking care of this with a patch or update whatever! I have reported this bug many times, and I have even contacted Adobe customer support with a screen-shots showing the problem, but no action is taken so far. Today, I installed the update 9.1.1 thinking that the problem would be solved, but no!, the problem still persists!.

See! how careless Adobe is! The "Registered Date" along with the "User's" thumbnail on the left-pane of this web page is also wrong!, it shows I am registered in the year 1969, then I was not even born :))

It looks like we all apparently registered in the 1960s. How interesting.

I write a lot of reports in my profession, and we almost always print them to PDF for storage and compilation. We have our administration secretary print from the PDF. She is new, and unfamiliar with PDFs in general. I'm really worried that this Adobe glitch will sneak by her. It's surely messed up my work on a few occasions!

Just to state that I've just encountered this problem, which I therefore assume remains unresolved.
I have found that reducing the thumbnails to a single column allows access to the remaining one(s) - hardly satisfactory.
A better 'solution', or codge, at least whilst editing is to prepare a 10-blank-page pdf (or however many is appropriate to your page view) and insert that at the end of the main document. That shoves the last relevant page's thumbnail up and into view. Just remember to delete them before publishing!

I noticed the same problem today in Acrobat Standard 9.3.1. What a PITA! Has Adobe even acknowledged the issue??

I have just upgraded to Acrobat Pro 9 from 8 and I notice that this problem is still not fixed. Very frustrating when a new version has bugs that the old did not have

New update to Acrobat 9.4.1 - and the problem is still the same - think they want us to upgrade to Acrobat X Pro :-(
