[Off-topic] Enough with those CAPTCHAs already...

Sorry for posting this here, but there's no place to discuss the forums themselves, I'm afraid.

Is anyone else fed up with those annoying CAPTCHAs after each post? Can't this be tweaked so that only new users will have to fill those in (for example, anyone with less than 50 posts)?
I understand it's supposed to deter spammers, but it also works to deter the actual experts and users who participate in the forums.

You shouldn't be seeing them at all - I don't, and I'm pretty sure most of the rest of us don't either... are they on replies or just on new threads?

I don't create that many new threads, but I do see them on replies quite regularly.
While we're at it, could you also check if the envelope to contact me by PM appears under my user-name?
I enabled this option in the preferences, but I have a feeling it's not working.

Yes, the envelope is there - you can never see your own, but everyone else can. There's logic in there someplace!

Thought as much... Thanks, though! (and to Dimitri as well)

This is an attempt to prevent spamers from posting their wares or dresses here.

I understand that, but I think an exception can be made to regular users (like people with more than a thousand posts already), don't you?
