Programing in LiveCycle Designer is very different from Excel. In LiveCycle Designer you will need to provide the field names of the field in each cell that you want to add. There is a Sum function and you just need to enter in the field names as parameters.

Have you looked at any of the Forms: LiveCycle Designer tutorials?

Have you looked at any of the supplied form templates?

thank you very much for the response. Can you give me some more direction as to where the sum function is or how to access the sum function?

Under LiveCycle Designer's 'Help' option on the menu bar there is the 'Scripting Reference'. I would look at creating a LiveCycle Form from the Purchase Order Template.

A lot of what your code will look like will depend upon how you or LiveCycle Designer names the fields.

i'm really just looking for the way to tell one cell to add the data from a couple of other cells. i'm the LiveCycle designer so i'd like to just be able to tell it what i need without scripting.
