Touch Up Object Tool Help

Basically to sum up what Im doing with Adobe Acrobat Pro v8.1.1:

Ok...I have the original document. Its 491 pages for the first half of the catalog. I have to replace the logo in the bottom corners into the other companies logo. I did just convert the .pdf to .ppt and copy and paste my logo in. After that when scrolling through the document you would see the original logo first and then the new logo that I placed there would show up. I cant have this happen because after the file is done I have to burn it to a CD for distribution. So I need a way to stop this from happening. Im hoping that there is a specific file type that would prevent this from happening or a way to merge the new logo into the file so that its permanent.

We have permission to edit the original document. Its for my mothers boyfriends business in heating and cooling. The catalog that they have is the catalog that they are letting us use to distribute their products under a different name. Basically they are the manufacturer and we are a representative for them. I downloaded PDF Password Remover and it removed the password no problem along with any other protection that was there. But unfortunately it appears that the logo is embedded into the document. So now I need to remove this logo somehow without copying and pasting.

I noticed in Adobe Acrobat Pro v8 that I can crop every page at the same time. What I would like to do is crop about the bottom 1/2 inch off and that would get rid of their weird page number and their logo. And then resize the page back to the standard 8.5x11 page without distorting any of the images. After that go back into the document and add my own logo and set the footer to have standard page numbering. Is there any program out there that can do any of these tasks?

Im using the .PDF document right now with the password removed along with all the other document restrictions and the logo I need to remove still isnt selectable. So that leads me to believe that started with something other than .PDF, merged the logo into their pages, and converted to .PDF for faster viewing.

I thought of another way to get rid of the first logo appearing. What Im going to do is remake my own logo and add it to every page in the cracked .PDF. After all my editing is done my mom is going to print my version of the catalog with her work places industrial printer. After that she is going to scan it with her work places industrial scanner. So that we will have a fresh copy of my .PDF with nothing in it from previous versions. My only problem is that I cant figure out how to edit or move pictures in Adobe Acrobat Pro v8.

And then...

I was using Adobe Acrobat .PDF and was reading through the help files to figure out how to add my own picture. Well when I was in the advanced Touch Up Object tool I was able to select the original image that was giving me problems and delete it with no problem at all. Now my question is how do I delete all the images at one time?

Glad you found the Touch Up Object Tool. There really isn't a quick and fast way to remove/replace the logo on all pages because Acrobat wasn't designed as a pagination/layout tool. However, it might make things easier if you open up the Content Navigation Panel and search for instances of the logo through this window then delete/replace the logo. This may be easier than re-scanning the file (especially since the scanned file will be quite large and not searchable unless you OCR it).

Also, if you replace the logo in the original file (you don't mention what format this is) instead of copy/paste over the graphic then you won't see the underlying image display briefly in Acrobat.

The original file is .PDF. Is there a way to replace the file on all the pages at one time?

As I mention above, there is no quick method in Acrobat to replace the logo on all pages at one time. You can use the techniques outlined to simplify the process.

OK my next question is... I got rid of all the logos that I need to in the first half of the catalog. Now I have to go through and insert my own logo. Is there a way to put this on every page at one time or do I have to do them all seperately? If I have to do them all seperately how do I make sure that they are all aligned and even on every page?

Using the Touch Up Object tool, Place the Image on the Page, postion it where you want, then copy the image. Page down and select paste. This should postion in the same location as the previous page.

Another alternative would be to create a form field and duplicate the field on all your pages then insert the graphic in the form field. This can get kind of complicated if you're not familiar with forms though.

Sure, create a button form field at the location where you would like the new logo. Under the Button Propertes Appearance tab set border color and fill color to none. Under the Options tab, under the Layout pull-down select Icon only and select Advanced properties for scaling (or not) as necessary. Click the "Choose Icon" button to select your graphic file. Close the Button Properties menu.
Next, select the form field, right-click, and select Duplicate. Check the button for All pages or just list the pages you would like the button on.
