Touch-Up Text Tool Deletes Chunks of Text

I have a problem with the Touch-Up Text Tool.
Whenever I modify text and save the PDF, random strings of text are deleted throughout the document.
I'm using Acrobat Professional 7.0.3 ME version.
Any ideas on what causes this and how to prevent unwanted deletion of text?

Try running the Accessibility checker and adding tags and structure to the document.

It sounds as if you are working with an untagged document. This kind of document is unstructured, lends itself to the issue you are describing.

You are always better off going back to the source document, such as a Word file, and making the changes there.
