Hi I live in Australia and I'm using windows XP, SP3, have had multiple problems with adobe not opening, not recognising that I actually have Adobe! Now doesn't appear to be having probs in that area but now when opening page computer shows bizarre error - Adobe Reader must close now under unusual circumstances, once hit ok everything shuts down! Seems to recognise an adobe form but maintaining the form open is another thing. Can anybody help me, hope it doesn't sound too strange, very frustrating!!! Have a portable Scanner IRIScan Express 2, wonderful little number, can save copies as PDF, can open, then whammo same strange message about closing under unusual circumstances. Cheers to all and look forward to any help, many thanx Deb

I have a similar problem. When someone sends a PDF as an email attachment, I cannot open the file. All I get is a page with a small Adobe sign in the middle. My PC is a fairly new Compaq with Windows 7. I tried the recommended fixes of "repairing" the installation. I even uninstalled the Adobe that came with the PC and downloaded the most recent version with the same result. Perhaps Outlook is the culprit...I use Outlook 2010. I hate computers!

Microsoft Outlook needs to be set to allow the PDF attachment or the PDFs should be Zipped and attached.

I am trying to download a label and customs form from USPS and error "Acrobat plug in This operation is not allowed" displays. I have downloaded the latest version of Adobe Reader X. What else can I do?

Problem was solved. Adobe Reader X had downloaded but not opened or run.
