I have been trying to run Document...Recognize Document OCR Recognition and I get the following error:

Acrobat could not access the recognition service because:
Unable to locate the Paper Capture recognition service. Your installation may be corrupt.
This is probably due to either a low memory situation or an corrupt installation. If the problem is not cleared up by shutting down other applications and/or rebooting, then please re-install Acrobat.

I tried the Acrobat Repair from the install CD...that didn't work. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall and I'm still having the same error. any ideas would be helpful. I did find a similar problem on the Adobe KB site, for version 8.0 related to laserfiche and the plug-in folder....as a possible solution. I even tried that and it didn't work.
any ideas would be helpful and appreciated.

Weird thing is now I have upgraded to Acrobat X and still having the same error. I am unable to access the Recognize Text feature. any ideas would be helpful.

Perhaps some other application "took over" the file drs832.dll (associated with OCR ops).

thanks for the suggestion. I tried that as well...still not working. Makes sense, but that didn't solve the problem. I will continue to look for solutions...any other ideas out there???
