Unable to open PDF files

I have Win 7 and was using Reader 9 just fine. I upgraded to Reader X and now when I try to open a PDF file in a variety of web pages all I get is a dark Grey screen. I have tried repairing the Reader. I have removed the registry keys specified in your tech note, I have made sure all of the explorer references are correct....nothing.
What next please (or can I download Reader 9 from somewhere and go back to where I was????)

Help, please,

Angus

Do you still have an older version of Acrobat and/or Reader installed?

In Reader X there is a new preference under Edit > Preferences > General category called "Select Default PDF Handler". This allows you to select the PDF application used for viewing PDF files in a web browser. Do you have this set to Reader X?
