Use tracking file

When working with a large pdf file, it would be useful if there were a file that tracked the pages that are visited so that you could return to a page without needing to search. Does Acrobat create such a file while in use?

Using Alt+Left/Right will go the previous/next page you've been on. I don't think this information is saved in a file, though.
