I am a novice with Adobe Acrobat. I use the program primarily to view client documents that I have scanned with a Fujitsu scanner for my files instead of keeping paper files.

In Adobe 8 I seemed to be able to set the screen view for all documents at 125% of actual and the setting seemed to stay each time I opened a new scanned document without re-setting anything ion Acrobat.

I purchased a new scanner bundled with Adobe 9 and now the scanned documents show up covering almost the entire screen and I must change the size to 125% each time I open a document.

I have tried setting the properties but can only do so when I am viewing a document. When I do set the properties they only seem to apply to that one document. If I try to set the properties without viewing a document the properties button is grayed out.

I do not know if I have a scanner issue or an Acrobat issue. I looked through the scanner setting and nothing is seems obvious that would corret this problem. I apologize in advance for the possible stupidity of my inquiry.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 9.3.1, Windows

the issue is not with the scanner. do this: on acrobat's edit menu select preferences (ctrl+K); at category 'page display', then at 'default layout and zoom' section set your choice of zoom value.

Thank you for your response. I had already repeatly taken the action that you had suggested over the last several months without any success.

However, purely by chance yesterday, in response to the McAfee security update foul up I uninstalled my McAfee Security Suite and installed the Norton Security Suite.

Voila! Acrobat 9 now works as intended, the initial view is consistent from document to document and just as importantly the changes to toolbar preferences are staying open. Previously with McAfee installed with Adobe 9 I had to re-set the toolbar preferences for each document.

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate as an operating system so I am not sure if the problem was a McAfee-Windows 7 issue or a McAfee-Acrobat issue.

I any case I thank you for your help
