I'm a beginner using Acrobat. I am using the trial version from Abode. I would like to add a watermark behind the text that will show up on screen and also in the printed version. I have followed the steps in the help section to the letter but the watermarks do not appear either on screen or when printed. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks

If you have indeed followed the directions in Acrobat 8 then a watermark should appear.

Check your opacity settings and if you are using an image make sure it is visible.

Thanks for trying to help.
Here are the steps I am following to add a watermark behind the text.
If I want the watermark on top it shows up okay. It is
only when I try to place it behind the text that is not visible and does not print.
Set PDF to be read by version 6.0 or higher.
Choose : Document - Watermark - Add
Text: Type in the word TEST
(Have tried setting opacity anywhere from 10% to 100%)
Under appearance I choose : Appear behind page
(As soon as I choose appear behind page the watermark disappears)
I have saved the PDF and tried reopening and it is still not there,
but if I try to add another watermark I get the pop up screen that
says the pages are already marked.
Under appearance options :
I have it checked to show on screen and when printing.

I have also tried using a JPEG as a watermark with the same results.
Am I missing something??

Thanks again
