Words are missing when creating a pdf from Word

Hi there, I am having trouble creating pdf's from word. Big chunks of text will be missing and email addresses will have the word hyperlink before it and not be a live link. I have performed the repairs in both word and acrobat. I'm on a new pc (windows xp pro, sp2), office 2002, and acrobat 8.1 professional.

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

Exactly how are you creating the PDF? Are you "printing" from Word or doing something else to tell Word to make the PDF?

My gut feeling is that it's something in your Word or Acrobat settings....all those optional check boxes.

Making a PDF by "printing" it is generally stable. How are you doing it?

Acrobat is probably the program I use most often and I'm learning more every day.

Hi - thanks for your response. I have been doing both ways: "printing" to pdf and the convert to pdf straight from word.

Have you tried it on another computer, if there's one available?
Is the problematic Word page one you'd be ok with letting me look at to see if the error duplicates here? (I am running Office 2007, so that may not be a perfect test.) But my feeling is the error starts someplace with your Word settings or the way the Word document is put together. What do you see in Print Preview in Word?

Hi, I'm having the same problem. I'm using Word 2003 on Vista. I've tried using both Acrobat tools in Word: converting to PDF and printing to the PDF printer. Big chunks of text are missing for me as well, and text in the same font appears elsewhere. I can't really figure out what the pattern is. I've even tried to use format painter to copy from the sections that are appearing to no avail. Lastly, I found advice online to check the option to print hidden text and that did not work either. The Print Preview displays everything correctly.

Hmm....with those kind of global problems I think my next step would be to run a registry checker or other program that can check for errors in the registry or DLL's....There are several available if you don't have one....I use system mechanic which pretty much keeps things under control.

Hope this helps....
