We receive CAD drawings sometimes and would like to be able to view them.

What is the lowest level of Adobe I need to do this?

You can view CAD drawings that have been converted to PDF with Adobe Reader; however to convert CAD drawings to PDF you'll need Acrobat 8 Pro. or 3D. For more information on how to convert DWG files to PDF without AutoCAD installed check out the following article by Tim Huff at:
