Hi

I am using acrobat 9 standard on windows 7 with the desktop resolution set to 96 dpi (default)

if i make a word document with a text box 1 inch across, and i zoom to 100% in word, the text box appears 96 pixels across (pretty obvious so far)

Now, if I convert it to PDF and then view the PDF at 100%, the text box takes up 110 pixels

so is 100% zoom in acrobat actually 115%? I can't think of any other solution

Check edit/preferences/page display - there's an option to choose the assumed display DPI so you can get real-world size pages on your monitor.
